Keyvan Esfarjani, Intel’s head of global operations, said recently that despite the global economic downturn, the company will continue to build new fabs in Europe and the United States. Intel believes the economy will rebound in due course and drive demand for chips again, and that it is important to diversify supply chains and expand capacity in the future as demand in the semiconductor market recovers.
